Almost former Detroit City Council member and convicted felon Monica Conyers is looking for ways to convince judges she should not go to jail, reports The Detroit News this morning.
Seriously? You take bribes, and you expect to get off scot-free? You should get ten years just for being a serial idiot!
Providentia blog calls for a tough sentence for Mrs. Conyers - something significantly more than the 120-days given to former Mayor and convicted felon Kwame Kilpatrick (which was a serious joke, by the way)

If Detroit ever wants to shake it's reputation at a third-world city that many banana republics in South America sneer at, then they need to actually start punishing those who do serious wrong instead of just saying "OK, well, some harm, but no foul because you're black" like they did with Kwame, with Barbara Rose Collins, and other prominent scumbags of color. An that's the only thing that will keep other scumbags from ripping Detroiters off from the inside. Who fears getting caught stealing millions if all that happens is you get your name in the papers and you have to resign and fly to texas in a luxury jet chartered by a member of Congress?
