For Legal Scholars out there...

...if you beat the crap out of some Jihadi while your plane is still in the air, when do you officially come under the jurisdiction of US law enforcement?

Just wondering.

If it is a US-flagged carrier, you're under the jurisdiction of US law the minute you get on the plane.

Depending on whose airspace you're in when you act you may also come under their jurisdiction as well.

Oh drat. I was hoping someone could get a freebie and not get charged.

Well assuming you even get charged with battery on the hirabi scumbag you'll have great defenses of both self-defense and defense of third parties.

I'm pretty sure you know a good lawyer that could help out in such a situation :)
